In the name of progress, our chosen town centre developers (Wilson Bowden) have decided it would be a good idea to knock down the lovely Dukes Court in Macclesfield and replace it with a T J Hughes. We think this is wrong, very wrong.

Not only will they be destroying two really good drinking establishments and some wonderful little shops but they will also be demolishing some great old buildings and probably the nicest courtyard we have in Macclesfiield.

If you're sick of greedy developers destroying beautiful parts of Macclesfield so that out of town companies can make more money here, then let your voice be heard.

We agree that Macclesfield needs some investment but not at the cost of destroying its heritage and uniqueness.

We do not want £200 million to be spent to end up like Stockport.

Together we saved the Porters. Lets do it again!
